English Checkers, played properly

Board Duel uses the English Checkers ruleset on a full 8 × 8 board. It is easy to begin, but every forced capture and jump sequence creates a real tactical decision.

Mandatory captures change every turn

When a capture is available, you must take it. If that jump opens another capture, the same checker continues the sequence before the turn changes. This prevents accidental shortcuts and keeps every game faithful to the rules.

  • Move diagonally forward onto empty dark squares.
  • Jump an opposing checker to capture it when the landing square is open.
  • Reach the final row to crown a king that can move and capture in both directions.
